BMW AT200 Read& Write MSD85 ISN and Clone Module Without Dismantling

How to use BMW AT-200 ECU programmer to read & write MSD85 ISN and clone module no need opening the DME shell? Here is the step-by-step guide for users.

 

 

All need:

DME module: BMW MSD85

Device:

-BMW AT200 ECU programmer

–ISN OBD cable

–MSD85 Write ISN authorization

Computer: laptop or desktop

 

Procedure:

Connect AT200 to PC  

Open AT200 software

Select car brand, model, Engine- EGS and ECU

Click Next button

 

There are 7 options in the operation interface:

Wiring diagram

Identification

Modify VIN (this function cannot be used currently)

Read ISN

Write ISN

Backup data

Restore data

 

Step 1: Wiring

Click “Wiring diagram”

Follow it to connect AT200 and MSD85 DME via OBD cable

 

Step 2: Identification

Click “Identification”to identify VIN, identification number and model

 

Step 3: Read ISN

Click “Read ISN”to get ECU authorization and read out ISN

 

Step 4: Write ISN

Click “Write ISN” to read MSD85 DME PFLASH, DFLASH, XROM and EXT EEPROM data

This process will take about 2 minutes

When finish reading MSD85 data, a file backup interface will appear automatically

Just save the data file

Backup data successfully

An input box also appears on the screen automatically

Modify the ISN number which is different from the original one

Then click “OK”

Writing PFLASH…

Write ISN successfully

Click “Read ISN” again

Confirm the ISN read out is same as the new one

 

Step 5: Clone module

Click “Backup data”

Reading PFLASH, DFLASH, XPROM and EXT EEPROM…

Save new data

Backup data successfully
