BMW AT200 Test Report: Read& Write B38 ISN and Clone Module Successfully
This article mainly share the AT200 BMW prog test report on B38 DME confirmed by CG Company.
Purpose:
Check if AT-200 can read & write BMW B38 ISN and clone module or not without dismantling
Preparation:
DME module: BMW B38
Device: AT-200 V1.6.1 ECU Programmer & ISN OBD Reader

Procedure:
Open AT200 software
Select the corresponding car brand, model, Engine-EGS and ECU
Enter Bench process
There are 9 options in the operation page
Wiring diagram
Identification
Modify VIN
Read ISN
Write ISN
Read DFLASH
Write DFLASH
Read PLASH
Write PFLASH
Follow the wiring diagram to connect AT200 and B38 DME via OBD cable
Identify the chip, SN, hardware ID and flash info
Read ISN:
Reading DFLASH…
Read out ISN successfully
Write ISN:
Read DFLASH
Backup DFLASH data
When save DFLASH data successfully, an ISN input box displays on the screen automatically
Fill in a new ISN
Skip the same partition and erase another partition
Write new ISN successfully
Read ISN again, the ISN read out is correct which is different from the old one
Clone module:
Read and backup new DFLASH data successfully
Then read PFLASH, it takes a long time to read, maybe 10 minutes…
Finally, Backup new ISN PFLSH data successfully!
Result: BMW AT200 ECU programmer with ISN OBD cable can read & write B38 ISN, clone module no issues, no need opening the DME shell!
