CGDI MB tutorial: How to erase/ reset Benz ME9.7 ECU using it with ECU Connecting Board DME Cable
Step 1: Connect all devices properly
Step 2: Read ME9.7 ECU info
Step 3: Calculate erase password
Step 4: Erase ME9.7 ECU
Check the specific steps as follows.
Step 1: Connect all devices properly
Connect CGDI MB programmer to the computer via the USB cable
Run CGDI MB software
Select Auto Computer-> ECU-> Wiring Diagram-> ME9.7 (steps are similar with EGS and ISM)
Follow the wiring diagram to connect the professional ECU Connecting Board DME Cable with ME9.7 ECU
Then connect to CGDI Prog MB Benz key programmer
Supply power to ECU Connecting Board
Step 2: Read ME9.7 ECU info
In the same “Auto computer” interface, click “Read” to read out the related ECU basic info and key info.
Now the “Personalized” and “Activated” options are marked.
Note: The ECU status, if “personalized” option is not marked, but “Activated” option is marked. The possible reason is that the ECU should have been erased by other tool. It may fail to erase in this status. You need to put it back to car to activate it first, or use other tool to activate it. Then use CGMB to erase.
Step 3: Calculate erase password
Click “Get” to calculate erase password
Step 4: Erase ME9.7 ECU
When the erase password has been calculated successfully, click “Erase”
When it shows ”Erased successfully”, you need to read the ECU status to check if it erase correctly.
If yes, “personalized” and “Activated” options will not be marked.
If not, reboot your CGDI MB tool, do it again
Note: If erase password cannot be calculated successfully, please send your file to CG tech support. They can help you to calculate.
After all steps are completed, put the ME9.7 ECU back to car. Then use Autel or star diagnosis, etc device to synchronize with.
