How to add a Benz w204 New Be Key ?

Have a Mercedes-Benz W204 original key, and want to add a new BE key. Done by Xtool A80 with KC501 and CGDI MB BE Key in three steps.

In detail…

Remove the Benz W204 instrument from the car

Insert the original key and CGDI MB BE key into the vehicle ignition to test separately

Original key works! New key doesn’t work!

Connect Xtool A80 host to the vehicle instrument through the VCI diagnostic box with the main test line, and connect A80 with VCI box via Bluetooth

Step 1: Read EIS Data

Enter Xtool A80 tablet

Go to Special function>> Key Programming>> BENZ>> Infrared key system

Select EIS Functions>> Read EIS infor>> Read via OBD>> Automatic identify (CAN)

Save the original EIS data with a new folder

Step 2: Calculate Password

Return to infrared key system interface

Tap Password calculation>> Data collection>> With programmed key

Follow the instruction on the screen to do

  • Connect Xtool KC501 to the Xtool A80 device
  • Insert an original car key into the EIS
  • Wait for 5 seconds, then remove the original car key from the EIS
  • Select the communication method with EIS

Select Read via OBD>> Automatic identify (CAN)

  • Insert the same original car key into the lock
  • Wait for 5 seconds, then remove the original car key from the EIS
  • Insert the original car key into the infrared key slot of KC501

Calculate password successfully

Insert the original key into EIS (without turning on the ignition switch and wait for 30 seconds, pull it out and insert it)

The original key may need to be plugged and unplugged many times to start the car normally.

Step 3: Generate Key File

Keep internet connection is normal

Return to infrared key system interface

Tap Generate Key File and select the EIS data saved in step 1 to generate

Input the key info incl. password (16 digits) calculated in step 2 and key location to be generated

The original key data is generated successfully, and then enter the saved file name

Connect Xtool KC501 to the Xtool A80 and insert the blank CGDI Mercedes Benz BE key into KC501 infrared key slot

Write the data into the blank key successfully

Finally, insert the new key into the EIS to test, works fine!
