How to use CGDI MB to reset/erase Benz 722.9 7G TCU

How to use CGDI Porg MB to reset/erase Mercedes- Benz 722.9 7G TCU (Transmission Control Unit) without any issue? Follow the step-by-step guide to operate.

All devices required:

CGDI Prog MB Benz Key Programmer

Benz 722.9 7G TCU

Professional EGS cable- BMW/Benz EGS Test Platform

(It must be made by CG Tech)

Computer

Main steps:

Step 1: Connect CGDI MB programmer to the computer via the USB cable

Run CGDI MB software

Select Auto Computer-> TCU-> Wiring Diagram

Then follow the diagram to connect the professional EGS cable with EGS 7G, then connect to CGDI Prog MB

Note: The diagram needs external 12V power. You must follow the diagram to connect. Some EGS cable that customers buy from other website. It may cannot use with CGMB.

Step 2: Make sure the connection is correct, and back to “Auto Computer” menu, click “Read” to read out the related computer basic info and key info

Please kindly notice:

At this moment, “personalized” and “Activated” are both marked.

If “personalized” option not marked, but “Activated” option marked. The possible reason is that the EGS has been erased by other tool. This status will erase fail. You need to put it back to car to activate it first, or use other tool to activate it. Then use CGDI Prog MB Benz to erase.

Step 3: Click “Get” to calculate erase password

Step 4: Then click “Erase”

When it shows ”Erased successfully”, you need to read the EGS status to check if it correctly erase.

If yes, “personalized” and “Activated” options will not be marked.

If not, reboot your device, do it again

Note: If erase password cannot calculate, send your file to CG tech support .They can help you to calculate.

Finally, after you erased succeed, put the Benz TCU back to car. It needs to synchronize with Autel or star diagnosis, etc.
